Female Leads in Games Should Not Be A Marketing Gimmick

To use a female lead as a marketing ploy is simply stupid. It’s not a “special” thing anymore and it shouldn’t be treated that way. If you create a good game and get a good marketing team behind it, then you can make your game sell regardless of who’s on the cover.

Final Fantasy was more than just ahead of its time, it was a pioneer in factoring in key elements of a videogame that make it successful from the characters to the story to even the musical score. The epitome of a long lasting franchise, it’s one of those games that if you played it back then, you would now talk about it with wonder and awe.
